Your data stays on your device.

OSHA Reference ("we," "our," or "the app") is developed and published by Zima Logistics LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect (very little), how we use it (we don't), and your rights as a user.

If you have questions, contact us at support@zima-logistics.com.

1. Information We Collect

Information collected automatically

OSHA Reference does not include any advertising SDK, crash reporter, or third-party tracking library. The app makes no network requests except: (1) anonymous usage diagnostics (see Section 1a below), and (2) when you explicitly tap the eCFR live fallback button, which opens eCFR.gov in your browser.

1a. Anonymous usage diagnostics

The app collects anonymous, aggregated usage diagnostics (no personal data, no tracking) so we can prioritize fixes. The device identifier is a random per-install value that resets on reinstall and is never linked to your identity, never used for advertising, and never shared. Diagnostics never include your incident records or photos. If your App Store account is in the EU, EEA, or UK, diagnostics are off by default and only collected if you opt in — you can change this in Settings → Privacy.

Information you create in the app

Incident assessments, photos, PencilKit markup, and voice dictation transcriptions are stored exclusively on your device using Apple's local storage APIs. None of this data is transmitted to us, to Apple (beyond normal iCloud backup if you have iCloud enabled), or to any third party.

Voice dictation

Voice dictation uses Apple's on-device speech recognition framework. Audio is processed entirely on your device and is never uploaded to Apple's servers or ours. No audio recording is stored — only the transcribed text, which remains on your device.

2. How We Use Information

We do not collect personal information. Anonymous diagnostics are used only to prioritize fixes — never for advertising and never shared. We do not engage in behavioral advertising. We do not build user profiles.

3. Data Sharing

We do not share any user data with third parties because we do not collect any. If you use the eCFR live fallback, your request goes directly from your browser to eCFR.gov — we are not involved in that transaction.

4. Data Retention

All data you create in OSHA Reference is stored on your device. It is retained until you delete it within the app or uninstall the app. We have no copies of your data and cannot recover it if you delete it.

5. iCloud Backup

If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, Apple may back up OSHA Reference's local data as part of your device backup. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can exclude OSHA Reference from iCloud Backup in Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Backups.

6. Children's Privacy

OSHA Reference is designed for occupational safety professionals and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

8. This Website (osha-ref.zima-logistics.com)

This marketing website — separate from the app — uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic (page views, referrers, and which links are clicked, such as the App Store button). This helps us measure which content is effective. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data per Google's privacy policy. The data is aggregated and not used to identify you personally. This applies only to this website; the OSHA Reference app itself still collects nothing and makes no network calls. You can opt out using Google's opt-out browser add-on or any content blocker.
